National Convention

Purpose:

To conduct the business of the National FFA organization, including National Career Development Events, career awareness and leadership development.

Eligibility:

Montana delegates shall consist of the two state officers who attend the State Presidents Conference with the remaining two delegates decided by a drawing of the available state officers. The drawing will take place at the initial training. Others who may attend are members participating in national career development events, talent review, National FFA Band, National FFA Chorus, and individuals who may be candidates for American FFA Degree or national awards. Chapter members may attend with their advisors approval.

Stipends:

Delegates will have their expenses paid. Members competing in CDE's, talent, band, chorus, and proficiency interviews will receive $100.00 per member paid to their chapter. American Degree candidates will receive $50 paid to their chapter if they receive the degree in person at the convention. All stipends will come from the Montana FFA Foundation.

Procedure:

Advisors will complete and submit the convention housing requests that are available in the METNET Policy and Procedure folder. Chapter registration cards indicating the names of all FFA members who will be attending the National FFA Convention must be turned in to the National FFA Center or submitted at National Convention. These are sent from the National FFA Center in the fall or are available online at www.ffa.org. Advisors will carefully select chapter delegates to assure that only fully qualified; outstanding FFA members will represent Montana at the National FFA Convention.

Due Date:

Housing requests and a $50 per room deposit are due to the Montana FFA Association by June 1. Forms will be posted by the State Advisor when available from Nationals each year.
